Talk to dispatch

One call. A dispatcher, not a form.

What dispatch needs to know about a Newport Beach drop.

The Peninsula is served from the alley

Peninsula lots run as narrow as 30 feet, with the garage opening onto an alley around 20 feet wide and neighbors' garages on both sides. The unit goes where it blocks nobody's door and the truck can still reach it from the alley. Say which alley the lot backs onto.

Balboa Island has one bridge

The only road onto Balboa Island is the short two-lane bridge on Marine Avenue. The ferry from the Peninsula carries three cars at a time, so a service truck comes over the bridge. On the island the streets are narrow and the lots small, so the spot gets agreed before the truck crosses.

The city sets the work hours

Newport Beach allows construction noise from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays, with none on Sundays and federal holidays. In the city's high-density areas Saturday is off too. Tell dispatch your allowed hours and the drop gets planned inside them.

Newport Coast is behind a guard gate

Crystal Cove, Pelican Crest and many of the communities above Pacific Coast Highway are guard-gated. The gatehouse needs the delivery on a list with a name and a date. Give dispatch the gate contact when you order, because that is the step that stops a truck at the gate.

December on the harbor

The Christmas Boat Parade runs five nights in mid-December, a harbor tradition that traces back to 1908, with several hundred thousand people watching from the shore. Harbor-front streets fill every evening of the run, and private viewing parties need units that fit on a small waterfront lot.

Summer belongs to the beach

From Memorial Day to Labor Day the Peninsula fills with beach traffic and parking disappears, and the OC Fair runs next door in Costa Mesa from mid-July to mid-August. A summer job near the water should plan where the truck stops before the crowds take the street.

Anything else, call (833) 680-0336 and ask a dispatcher.

Which areas of Newport Beach do you cover?

All of Newport Beach: the Peninsula, Balboa Island, Lido Isle, Corona del Mar, Newport Coast and Newport Heights, plus Costa Mesa, Irvine, Huntington Beach, Laguna Beach, Tustin and Santa Ana. Call with your address to confirm.

Can you deliver to a Balboa Island or Peninsula lot?

Usually yes, from the alley. Tell dispatch the alley width, where the neighbors park and whether anything else on the lot, a bin or a material drop, already takes the space. With that the placement is decided before the truck comes over the bridge.

What hours can a unit be dropped on a Newport Beach jobsite?

The city limits construction noise to 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays, with nothing on Sundays and federal holidays, and high-density areas also lose Saturday. Give dispatch your site's allowed hours and the drop is scheduled inside them.

How many porta potties do I need for a harbor party or a boat parade night?

One unit per 50 guests for a single-day event is the base, plus 10 to 20 percent when alcohol is served. Waterfront lots are small, so tell dispatch how much room there is and whether a restroom trailer fits. For a wedding or a long party, an event unit or a trailer reads better to guests.

What does it cost?

Price depends on unit type, rental length and location. A one-day party unit and a monthly jobsite cycle price differently. Call with your zip code and headcount, you get a real quote on the phone, in minutes.

How many units do I need?

Rule of thumb: one unit per 50 guests for a single-day event, one per 25 for a wedding, and about one per 10 workers on a full-week jobsite. Add an ADA unit when anyone on site needs step-free access. Tell dispatch your headcount and we spec it for you.

Where should the unit be placed?

Within about 15 feet of where the service truck can park, on level ground. A fenced backyard is usually the wrong spot: if the truck can't reach the unit on service day, the stop gets skipped. Dispatch walks placement with you before delivery.

Are ADA-accessible units available?

Yes. Wheelchair-accessible units with ground-level entry, interior turning radius and grab bars are available in most areas.
